Love always seems to find a way—even during a pandemic. I saw so many couples announce their engagements that it felt like a virtual celebration.
Given all the challenges we’re facing right now, these announcements came like a breath of fresh air,
The question was, how do we share our joy while sitting at home all over the country?
The answer: by throwing a massive virtual wedding shower. Before the big event, teams sent out fun props for the bride and groom and organised virtual games and prizes for participants. They even added an element of surprise. “Invitations or wedding website were sent out for a monthly team connect that is required. All the gifts and goodies were sent a week in advance, with strict instructions not to open the parcels until the meeting day.
For the couple, the virtual shower was a much-needed opportunity to celebrate with colleagues. “I’d really been missing my team during this period, as I wanted to share the excitement and wedding preparation plans with my friends at the office,” said the groom. “Being able to see everyone together at this virtual shower made me so happy.
I was so surprised,” added the bride. “It was an amazing virtual pre-wedding bash, beyond anything I’d ever expected.
This event proved that team members don’t all have to be in one place to have fun, and that now more than ever, it’s important to celebrate the people that matter in our lives.
It truly strengthened my bond with my teammates,” said the bride. “I am grateful that we could find a way to gather and share in our happiness, especially during the pandemic.
