3 Ways To End the Year on a High Note

After the pandemic struck the world, we are all slowly getting back to our normal lives in 2022. Every new year gives us new hope that everything will turn out for the best, and as usual, I bet on this year bringing the best for me. Lol, indeed! The year 2022 has been pretty disappointing till date. Just a few months more, and we welcome another New Year once again. This time though, as the year ends, I have decided to end it on a positive note. I’m sharing my thoughts in the hope that it helps you too. Focus on the highs and not the lows Though my year was peppered with lows, I have chosen to focus on the highs, though they were few and far between. I have penned down my achievements that will help me move forward into the new year. Just because I am not focusing on the lows, doesn’t mean that I will forget the mistakes that led to it. It’s all about learning from one’s mistakes to make things better next time around. I don’t want anything to hold me back or put me down. My main goal is to look ahead to a better future in the coming new year. Reflect, acknowledge and move ahead – that’s going to be my motto. Celebrate the Finale Now I believe the best is yet to come! Come hell or high water, I’m going to make the best of the last few months of 2022. As I pondered over something really exciting to do at the year end, I had a ‘lightbulb’ moment. A conversation I had with a friend flashed through my mind. She had shared her experience aboard one of the New Year’s Eve Dinner Cruises last year, and talked about what a smashing time she had. I wasted no time in googling the experience on board what was touted to be some of the most spectacular Sydney New Year’s Eve Cruises on the harbour. Pictures of the vessels, the onboard dining and dancing, the harbour events, and of course, the fireworks displays, seemed truly enchanting. And I decided that I have to see it and experience it to believe it! So, in the hope of ending the year on a high, I have booked my tickets on an exquisite glass boat cruise on new year’s eve. Despite a tough year, it’ll definitely be worth it if I can say, “All’s well that ends well!” Compromise with expectations I will not stop myself from dreaming big, but I know from experience that limiting my expectations will protect me from big disappointments. All good things can’t possibly happen in one year. It will always be a blend of both good and bad. Sometimes, the good is less or if you are lucky enough, more. So, I am fine-tuning my expectations to be more realistic. Most of all, I’m going to learn the art of patience. Nothing is perfect. Not us, life or a year. If we accept things that are beyond our control and go with the flow, we won’t suffer any kind of major disappointment. As a result, the glass will be half full rather than half empty. Finally, all I have to say is be grateful and generous. Grateful for all the gifts we have, what we are and for the simple fact that we are living. Generosity goes hand in hand. Share the gifts that have been passed on to you to the world around you. If my blog has influenced you in any way, please do share in your comments below.
